The new Christian is encouraged to have confidence in face of challenges by unbelievers and is directed in how to overcome such attacks and to live in confidence and assurance each day. 2. The Living God Is My God! The relationship that a new Christian has with God, the Father, is studied. He is the Christian's God and Father who cares, hears his prayers, and provides. Because He is an unchanging God, He can always be trusted. 3. I Know That My Redeemer Lives! The Christian's relationship to Christ is considered. Jesus is the Christian's Christ, Savior, Lord, Example, and Friend. 4. Appreciating The Holy Spirit! The Christian is encouraged to love the Holy Spirit and to deeply appreciate His revealed Word, the Bible. Extensive information is given concerning the two Testaments, three Biblical dispensations, the 66 books of the Bible, and the Biblical divisions. A synopsis of each book of the Old and New Testament is given to help familiarize the Christian with the Bible. Then, Bible characters, events, geographic locations, and Bible terminology are identified. 5. Be A Partaker Of The Divine Nature! Having learned of these new relationships with the divine members of the Godhead, the new Christian is challenged to want to be like God! 6. Beware Of Your Mortal Enemy! The new Christian immediately becomes an enemy of Satan. He is cautioned to beware of Satan's attacks and is given direction on how to overcome those attempts to draw him back into sin. 7. Persevering Persecution! Jesus' promises about facing persecution are studied, then the Christian is given Godly advice on how to react when mistreated or persecuted. 8. That Family Feeling! The lesson focuses upon the Christian's relationship with fellow Christians, evangelists, and elders. He is encouraged to see himself as an appreciated member of God's wonderful family. 9. Christ In Your Home! God's laws governing the home are identified. Then husbands and wives are shown how that a Christian should develop understanding that will enhance his or her marriage to its maximum potential. Parents and children are given directions on how to make those relationships the best they can be. 10. Clueless Or Cautious? The new Christian is cautioned against false doctrines concerning the Holy Spirit and demons. He is warned about philosophies such as postmodernism and Calvinism that convince men that they do not have personal responsibility and choice in responding to God's Word. The Christian is warned about doctrines like denominationalism, ecumenicalism, syncretism, premillenialism and changing women's roles in the Church because they attack the uniqueness of the Lord's Church. This lesson provides protection so the new Christian will not be led away from Christ by deceitful teachings. 11. Honoring God In Your Worship! The new Christian is encouraged to learn the joy of worship and to learn how to prepare for worship and to participate with the proper motives. Questions about the necessity of worship, the Lord's Supper, the contribution, and authorized music in worship are answered. 12. When Troubles Come! The Christian is reminded that the Christian life is not a Utopia. Misconceptions about troubles are corrected and evidence is provided on how to deal with troubles that will come throughout life. 13. Teaching What You Have Learned! The new Christian is urged to develop a fervency in telling others of the glorious salvation he has found in Christ. Blessings that evangelism will bring to his life are identified in hopes of motivating the Christian to tell others about Christ. 14. Growing And Bearing Fruit For The Lord! The new Christian is urged to cultivate a good heart that is determined to bear much fruit for the Lord. He is challenged to grow in many ways so Heaven can be his eternal home. |
